Each Upthrifted piece is hand picked and treasure hunted by me and once transformed becomes an entirely unique and truly one of a kind work of art. I have always had a passion for thrifting and the past few years I have been buying over 90% of my wardrobe from thrift shops - in most aspects of life I often find that too much value on “new” which is a mentality that has caused so many ongoing issues in our society. That is part of the reason I am so excited about this project that shows that there is so much value in the old and forgotten if only seen in a new light.

It has been so lovely to work on a project that I am so passionate about and one that uses a different part of my creative brain than my fully original pieces. Using my creativity in a different way has been so rewarding including having a positive impact on my mental health. I have found that this project has allowed me to take bigger creative risks but in a way that is so gratifying. Even the aspect of treasure hunting for the perfect pieces has been bringing me so much happiness and being able to collaborate with these unknown artists has filled my heart with joy.

In keeping with my overarching artistic style I will continue to immerse my viewers in my own world of magic and whimsy using details and intricacies to help our imaginations thrive.
